Shady Side resident Michael David Warren II, 26, is facing multiple possession charges after being found with several ounces of marijuana, paraphernalia, and other narcotics, according to the Calvert County Sheriff's Office.
A senior sheriff’s deputy was called to conduct a patrol check at Wawa in Prince Frederick, when he saw a driver - later identified as Warren - pull up to a gas pump with no lights on, a spokesperson for the sheriff announced.
After more than an hour, the deputy said that he went to check on the welfare of the driver, who was found asleep at the wheel in the driver's seat with a glass smoking device and green leafy substance observed in plain view, according to investigators.
A search of the vehicle led to the revelation of:
- Several smoking devices;
- A zip-lock containing a white powdery substance;
- A yellow package containing suspected marijuana;
- Three individual bags of marijuana weighing approximately one ounce each;
- A clear zip-lock back of marijuana weighing an estimated eight grams.
Warren was placed into custody and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center, where he was charged with:
- Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS): Possession of not marijuana;
- CDS: Possession of more than 10 grams of marijuana;
- CDS: Possession with intent to distribute narcotics;
- CDS: Possession of paraphernalia.
No return court date has been announced.
